In the mid/late 70's, My mother decided she wanted to try to be more self sufficient. Using a recipe found in an article in Mother Earth News Magazine, She decided to make soap. My older sister and I were put to the task of mixing the oils, scents, herbs and Sodium Hydroxide with a shared whisk... for hours (OK, maybe not hours.. but it seemed like hours). Not an easy task. But we did it. A few batches later, we got pretty good at it... Fast forward to 1995, I started a goat farm in Palm Beach County and had plenty of leftover goat milk for cheese and soap. I made enough for myself, friends and my family. 10 years later, I had friends begging me for more when they ran out of what was gifted to them, wanting to buy some for their friends and family. So, in 2010, I started selling my soap and in 2012, began teaching a select few how. My business has gotten much bigger, and my time has gotten shorter, so, I no longer have the time to teach. But, I LOVE, love, LOVE making soap and am fortunate and very thankful for all of the people that buy from me and support my little goat farm and business
Top Flight Farms has been an operating farm, licensed with the State of FLORIDA since 1995. It is dedicated to the handcrafting of custom, high quality, artisan handmade soap, and bath products. Each small batch is carefully measured designed and wrapped by hand. So, no two soaps are exactly alike in design and color, but the recipe is the same for each batch. Weight varies slightly as each bar is cut individually and cures at different rates. I try to make them at least 3.5 ounces. some are heavier. I also cure for a minimum of 4-6 weeks, to make a harder, milder and longer lasting bar.
Our Proprietary Soap Recipes are made with the finest quality natural ingredients. We only use first cold pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Organic Cold pressed Coconut oil, Organic Almond Oil, Organic Avocado Oil, Pharmaceutical Grade Castor Bean oil, and Organic High-Oleic Sunflower oil. We use locally available Organic Rice Bran oil. We also use environmentally responsible Organic Cocoa, Shea, Avocado and Mango Butters whenever we can. Percentages of each of these oils are blended to produce our many varieties of soap. We NEVER use Corn, Canola Oil or Soy Products. In fact, We avoid ANY GMO products.
There is much discussion regarding the use of Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil. In the past, I did use Palm Oil products that came from an RSPO supplier from Ghana, in West Africa.I no longer use Palm Oil products. My Organic Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter and Shea Butter comes from the same area. It helps knowing exactly where your products come from and how they are harvested, and that the workers are paid well and taken care of.
Natural Clays , Micas, Pigments and Organic Botanicals are used for colorants. This includes many spices and teas as well.
Hawaiian Blue and White Pumice is used in some of the soaps, along with Ground Walnut Shells, Coffee grounds, dried Loofah, Herbs and Seeds for their exfoliating qualities and textures. Organic is used wherever possible and available.
Aside from goat's milk and cream collected daily from our Nigerian Dwarf Goats, other animal products include limited amounts of local honey & Beeswax and for some VERY limited edition soaps, raw cruelty free Tussah silk or Ahimsa wild silk Noil (silk that's has been collected after the moth has left the cocoon),and locally obtained grass fed-organic tallow and/ or lard is used in Non-Vegan soap. We do not use any other animal products and our products are NEVER, EVER tested on any animals.. (Husbands and Kids, yes)
I have been a member of ADGA since 1996. Our goats are ADGA registered Nigerian Dwarfs. Known for their quiet, loving and gentle demeanor, our goats lineage was specifically selected for it's high butterfat and protein content and dairyness. Our goats are tested annually for CAE, and Johnnes, and Florida is a Brucellosis & TB free state. All tests are negative.
Our goats are on DHIR milk testing and LA Herd Appraisal. The milk from them is 25-50% higher in butterfat than full fat cow's milk. Leaving a richer, more emollient lather. We go one step further in our limited production soaps and use the heavy cream, taken from our Goat's milk. DHI records are always available. Kids are available occasionally, as are adults. Contact us if your are considering purchasing one of our available kids.

Handcrafted, handmade soap is great for the skin and adding milk only makes it better. Goat milk is particularly moisturizing and nourishing to the skin because of capric-caprylic triglyceride. Capric-caprylic triglyceride is an effective skin moisturizer that helps to contribute to skin softness by forming a barrier on the skin to help inhibit the loss of moisture. It is the only milk that contains naturally occurring capric-caprylic triglycerides. The protein strands of goat milk are shorter than other types of milk and are more readily absorbed by skin. Goat milk is also fantastic in handmade soap because it has a lower pH (between 4.0 and 6.4), thus reducing the overall pH of the final bar of soap.
Goat milk also has naturally occurring lactic acid that helps keep skin smooth by encouraging skin turnover (it acts similar to a gentle peel). It also contains many vitamins, specifically A, D and B6, as well as the anti-oxidant Selenium.
Our Goat Milk is made by happy, free browsing goats that are never fed anything genetically modified or containing animal by-products and we do not use any sprays, synthetic fertilizers, insecticides, or pesticides. Our Goat Milk is whole and raw and has no hormones, BGH( growth hormones), antibiotics, or preservatives.
Goat Milk can produce a distinctive scent in soap and lotion. It can be known to turn a dark cream or yellow color in Cold Process soap. I process at very low temperatures and do not allow the soap to overheat while curing to help keep it creamy white.

Me visiting a Shea and Palm Plantation outside North Kakum In Ghana
I had the opportunity to visit plantations in Ghana in 2009 to actually see where I was getting my Oils and Butters from. It was heartwarming to meet the welcoming families and people that run the plantations and process the Oils and Butters. I do my best to be as environmentally conscious as possible when it comes to what goes into my soap. The images below are from the Norpalm Plantation in Ghana.
Wayne and I were taking a break from the long walk
Shea is called Karite in Africa. It is wonderful for skin. It is so moisturizing and emollient. It really helps soften tough, dry skin and helps smooth the appearance of wrinkles. It is a star ingredient in all my soap.
The far bottom picture is showing the men sorting through the Shea nuts that will soon be cracked and the meat inside squeezed for the rich butter

What's in YOUR soap???
I can't name this name brand soap, but the little birdie in the picture of the back of the package should give it away. This company is running a campaign ad that says "Why D**e is better than soap"
Really? Top Flight Farms Handcrafted soaps contain the highest quality oils, Natural colorants and therapeutic grade Essential oils (unless a Fragrance oil is used, then it is cosmetic/skin safe grade Essential oil/Fragrance oil blend))
This commercial soap can't be called a soap. It is known as a "Syndet" or Synthetic Detergent.
Your skin is the largest organ of the body. Consider what you put on it to clean it.
Most commercial "Soaps" and body washes are loaded with chemicals that your skin absorbs. If you can't pronounce it, does it belong on your skin? When was the last time you read the ingredients of your soap?
